5:30pm - 8:00pm , Thursday, 10th September in Tavern Function Room.
The Murdoch Guild of Students is hosting a series of friendly debates at the Tavern. Students and staff are invited take part or simply attend, enjoy a FREE meal, some cold beer and support the participants.
Debating on Campus
In semester one your Guild organised the 1st annual Guild Student Debating competition and the winning team was sent to the Australian National Debating Championships (Easters) in Queensland to represent Murdoch.
Politics in the Pub is a friendly way to get involved in Debating on campus. Debating not only helps you to become a more confident and persuasive public speaker, but it also increases your capacity to think analytically and formulate convincing arguments - helping with all logic-based academic work. Being involved looks fantastic on CVs and personal statements
Get Involved
We are looking for motivated students and staff to form debating teams and get involved. You do not have to have any debating experience to take part. Prizes will be awarded to the teams with the most persuasive and entertaining arguments.
