Student Village

Over the last semester your Guild has spoken and been in correspondence with many students living at the Village who are concerned about conditions at the village. The stories we have heard amount to exploitation and are not acceptable.

Issues include:
□ Lack of formal appeals and grievance procedures
□ Land line telephones removed 
□ Expensive and inconsistent internet
□ State Tenancy Legislation does not protect students living at Village

Tenancy Legislation

The WA Residential Tenancies Act 1987 states-
This Act does not apply to or in relation to -
(a) any part of a hotel or motel;
(b) any part of an educational institution, college, hospital or nursing home;
(c) any premises used for the purposes of a club;
